Anna May Miner Sweet

Anna May Miner Sweet, 89, formerly of 150 Ashland St., died Wednesday evening at Craneville Place of Dalton, where she had been a resident for several years. Born on Jan. 11, 1917, in Pittsfield, daughter of William and Elizabeth Soutier Miner, she attended Pittsfield Schools, graduating from Pittsfield High School in 1935. Primarily a homemaker, prior to her marriage, she had been employed by the Albany Restaurant in Albany as a waitress. She was a former member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Her last husband, William B. Sweet, died in 1989. She was also predeceased by her first two husbands, Herbert Kent and Kelvin W. Adams. She leaves two daughters, Gayle Jordan of Pittsfield and Shirley Watkins of Scotia, N.Y.; a son, David Adams of Scotia, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Wayne Sweet and Herbert Kent. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A prayer service in the Roman Catholic tradition will be offered in celebration of Anna Sweet's life on Saturday at noon from MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Liberty St., Adams, with the Rev. Robert A. Moulton, pastor of the Catholic Parishes of Adams, officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in Bellevue Cemetery. A visitation period for family and friends will commence at 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of service. She also leaves a son-in-law, Fred Jordan; a sister-in-law, Ginny, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Raimer; a brother, William Miner Jr.; a son-in-law, John Watkins, and a brother-in-law, John Watkins.
