Rose M. Crittendon

Rose M. Crittendon, 70, of North Main St. died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center. Bon in Lee on Sept. 2, 1935, daughter of George and Agnes Aldrich Crane, she was educated in the Lee schools. She made her home in Otis since 1961 and was a postal clerk at the Otis post office from 1962 until retiring in 1983. She was a member of Otis Congregational Church. She was also a member of the Otis Red Hats, a coordinator for Meals on Wheels, a Cultural Council member and a member of the former Kiwanianns. She enjoyed gardening, volunteering and picture-taking. Her husband, Richard H. Crittendon, whom she married on June 25, 1961, died March 15, 2001. She leaves three sons, Douglas R. Crittendon of Pittsfield and Richard G. and Daniel B. Crittendon of Otis; four daughters, Lila A. Allard of Windsor, Rose A. Crittendon of Otis, Dixie R. Levesque of Dighton, and Ann M. Oppermann of Lee; two brothers, George and William Crane, both of Becket; two sisters, Lillian M. Dellea of Great Barrington, and Carol A. Mascowski of Holyoke; 13 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Rose M. Crittendon, who died Thursday, March 9, 2006, will be held Wednesday, March 15, at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church in Otis. Burial will be at a later date in Otis Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. Rose leaves two daughters-in-law Donna and Lori and three sons-in -law, Donald, Scott and Kerry. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Crane and a sister Evelyn Epps.
