Leona E. Ostrander, 97

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Leona Eva "Babe" Ostrander, 97, of 45 Spring St., died Saturday evening, March 11, 2006, at North Adams Commons. Born in Lynn on July 16, 1908, daughter of William and Josephine Green Collette, she attended schools in both Lynn and Clarksburg. Mrs. Ostrander was employed by the former J.J. Newberry Store on Main Street. Previously, she was employed by the former Gale Shoe Co. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her husband, Douglas Ostrander, whom she married in 1938, died on April 14, 1983. She leaves a daughter, Mary Lescarbeau and her husband, Donald, of North Adams; a son, Joseph Ostrander and his wife, Lois, of Lebanon, Pa.; four grandchildren, Alan Lescarbeau and his wife, Patricia, Joseph Ostrander Jr. and his wife, Karen, Kim DiLego and her husband, Paul, and Mary Pfundheller and her husband, William; five great-grandchildren, William and Nicholas Pfundheller, Katie and Andrea Lescarbeau, and Maia DiLego; two sisters-in-law, Martha Northrup and her husband, James, and Eleanor Ostrander; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Eva, Clara, Dora and Lillian. FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Ostrander will take place Thursday morning, March 16, at 10:15 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations may be made to VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire in care of the funeral home.
