Rita Rain Quimby

Rita Rain Quimby, 72, a resident of Timberlyn Heights nursing home, died there Feb. 28 after a long illness. Born in Pittston, Pa., on Nov. 17, 1933, daughter of Albert E. and Margaret Touhill Ciampa, she moved to Schenectady, N.Y., in 1940 where she graduated from St. John the Evangelist School and, in 1951, from St. Joseph's Academy. Mrs. Quimby was employed by New York Telephone Co., Matthew Bender Publishing Co., the Visiting Nurse Association and St. Claire's Hospital. She was a former member of the Schenectady Civic Players. She leaves a brother, Anthony E. Ciampa of Sahuarita, Ariz., and a sister, Frieda Tanski of Ballston Spa, N.Y. FUNERAL NOTICE -- There will be no calling hours for Rita Rain Ciampa Quimby, who died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in her name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association through FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. She also leaves two nieces, Christina Tanski of Middle Grove, N.Y., and Gabrielle Theriault of Malta, N.Y., and several cousins. Her beloved aunt, Juliet Quimby of Pittston, Pa., predeceased her.
