Frances Stanley

Frances Stanley, 88, of One Berkshire Square died Saturday at Williamstown Commons, where she was admitted March 16. Born in Adams on Aug. 21, 1917, daughter of William and Mary Gran Levy, she attended Renfrew Grammar School and, after moving to the Bronx, N.Y., graduated from schools there. After returning to Adams, Mrs. Stanley was employed by Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates as a dorfer. She then worked at General Electric Co. as a solderer in the capacitor department. After her marriage to Francis Stanley on July 31, 1948, she became a homemaker. She was an active member of First Congregational Church, where she served as an officer of the TriCon Club, clerk of the governing board and past president of the Kings' Daughters. She also was a member of the Quilting Club and enjoyed craft work. She and her husband were married in Adams by the Rev. John Hyde. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Sandra Panetta of Myrtle Beach, S.C. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Frances Levy Stanley, who died Saturday, March 25, 2006, will be conducted Wednesday at MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Michael J. Mullany, pastor of First Congregational Church. Calling hours for family and friends will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the family plot in Maple Street Cemetery, Adams. The family suggests memorial donations to First Congregational Church, 42 Park St., Adams, MA 01220, or through McBride Funeral Home, 6 Liberty St., Adams, MA 01220. Mrs. Stanley also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Levy.
