Thomas R. Cook

Thomas R. Cook, 93, of Great Barrington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center died there yesterday. Born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on Oct. 19, 1912, son of Thomas E. and Mary Rheinheimer Cook, he attended schools there. He moved to Great Barrington in 1974. Mr. Cook was employed by De Laval Separator Co., now Alfa Laval, in Poughkeepsie as a machinist foreman for 40 years. He enjoyed woodworking. His first wife, the former Harriet Andrews, died in 1972. His wife, the former Rose Guarnieri Gardella, died May 7, 1997. He leaves a son, Thomas C. Cook of Hillsdale, N.Y.; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Thomas R. Cook, who died Monday, March 27, 2006, will be conducted tomorrow, March 29, 2006, at 4 at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington by the Rev. Esther H. Chappuis. Burial will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. The family will receive friends tomorrow from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. He was predeceased by a grandson, Craig Cook, and by a great-grandson, Dana Bessette.
