Ellen Erwin, 89, of Summit Avenue, Albany, N.Y, died Wednesday at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Pittsfield on June 11, 1916, daughter of John and Frieda Mauersberger Gardner, she was a graduate of House of Mercy Nursing School. She was a registered nurse at Albany Medical Center Hospital for many years, retiring in 1981. Mrs. Gardner was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Albany. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph C. Erwin. She leaves two sisters, Grace G. Dyckman of Canfield, Ohio, and Margaret G. Miles of Pittsfield. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Ellen Erwin, who died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, will be held Saturday, April 1, at 11 a.m. from TEBBUTT FUNERAL HOME, 633 Central Ave., Albany, N.Y. Relatives and friends are also invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Memory's Garden Cemetery, Colonie, N.Y. Those who wish may make donations to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 10 North Main Ave., Albany, NY 12203. Mrs. Erwin also leaves seven nieces and nephews.
