Roland L. Daigneault

Roland L. Daigneault 67, of 64 Musterfield Heights died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Cohoes, N.Y., on Oct. 6, 1938, son of the late Alfred and Hortense Landgoc Daigneault, he attended schools there. He served in the Army as a signalman from 1958 to 1961 and obtained his General Educational Development certificate. Mr. Daigneault was employed by R.I. Baker Co. for 40 years as a millwright. At the time of death, he worked there part time. Before that, he worked at the former Anken Chemical Co. in Williamstown. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church in North Adams and a former member of the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Company, where he served as captain. He also was a member of the Stamford Sportsmen's Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He and his wife, the former Nancy A. Peat , were married Aug. 26, 1961, at St. Thomas' Church in Adams. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Deborah D. McCade of Webster, N.Y.; a son, Michael Daigneault of Adams; a sister, Linda Noonan of Cohoes, N.Y., and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Roland L. Daigneault will be Monday at 9 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, WEST CHAPEL, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Our Lady of Mercy Church in North Adams. Burial with military honors will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 8. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Company through the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. He also leaves a son-in-law, Michael McCade; his son Michael's companion, Robyn Lawson; two grandchildren, Conor and Evan McCade, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Henry Daigneault, and by two sisters, Alice Donahue and Jeannette DiBacco.
