Jerry Allen Whitney Jr.

Jerry Allen Whitney Jr., 64, of 61 Chase Ave. died Monday morning at the North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Edinburgh, N.Y. on Dec. 7, 1941, son of the late Henry J. Whitney Sr. and Anna Ruth Persons Whitney, he was educated in schools in Stillwater and Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and graduated from high school in Schuylerville, N.Y. He was employed for 10 years by the Sand Springs Bottling Co. in Williamstown. He enjoyed building puzzles, hunting, and fishing. He leaves his former wife, Hester Pierce of North Adams; three sons, Jerry A. Whitney Jr. of the State of California, Sam Whitney of Adams, and Lawrence Whitney of the State of California; a daughter, Lee Ann Whitney of North Adams; three stepchildren, Mark and Penny Gardner of North Adams, and Annie Gardner of Williamstown; six sisters, Jean Persons of Mechanicville, N.Y., Joan Hagadorne of Saratoga Springs, Betty Strong of Wilton, N.Y., Zelda Strong of Glens Falls, N.Y., Dorothea Whitney of Wilton, N.Y., and Darlene Brown of Adams; four brothers, William Brown of North Adams, Robert Whitney of Adams, David Brown of Rochester, N.Y., and Henry J. Whitney Jr. of Warren, Vt., and five grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral Services for Jerry Whitney, who died Monday, April 3, 2006, will take place Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPELS, North Adams. Burial will be private. Contributions may be made in his memory to the funeral home, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247. He leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joel A. Whitney and Louis Brown.

Gone but not forgotten not a day goes by i dont think of all the great and wonderful times we shared together you were the father i always wanted and had you stepped in and took that role on and treated me exceptional i love and miss you and believe if there were those stairs to heaven i wouldve have ran up them years ago to come get you. love you Gook always and forever <3 Pooh
