Anna Helena Billings

Anna Helena Billings, 89, of 855 Middle Road died yesterday at home. Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 20, 1917, daughter of Milton O. and Anna Rooney Wilbur, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Billings was employed by the former Berkshire Bank & Trust Co. as a teller for many years. She also worked at the former Ott & Berger Auto Dealership in Williamstown and at the former W.T. Grant's on Main Street in North Adams. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Adams and a charter member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department. She also served as a board member of the Clarksburg Council on Aging. She enjoyed camping and traveling. She and her husband, James W. Billings, were married May 30, 1940. He died Feb. 29, 2004. She leaves two daughters, Judith Ann Duquette, with whom she resided, and Nancy A. Yawn of Shaftsbury, Vt.; five grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Anna Wilbur Billings, who died Monday, April 10, 2006, will be conducted Friday, April 14, at 10 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, by the Rev. Joseph DeCosta, pastor of First Baptist Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 5 to 7. Donations may be made to First Baptist Church or to the Clarksburg Council on Aging in care of the funeral home. Survivors include her son-in-law, Charles Yawn; five grandchildren, Anna Lescarbeau and Jennifer E. Perry of North Adams, Edward Duquette Jr. of Clarksburg, Heather Bemis of Bennington, Vt., and Rhonda Young of Charleston, S.C., and nieces and nephews. Two sisters and a brother are deceased, Alice Nutt, Dorothy Wilbur and Milton Wilbur.
