Marjorie Eileen Cutler

Marjorie Eileen Cutler, 81, of 17 Pleasant St. died Sunday at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Friday. Born in North Adams on Feb. 22, 1925, daughter of John J. and Eileen Bailey Burns, she was a 1943 graduate of the former St. Joseph's High School. Mrs. Cutler was employed by North Adams Regional Hospital as a telephone operator for 20 years, retiring in 1989. Before that, she was employed by New England Telephone Co. for 10 years. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and a member of its Rosary Society and Children of Mary. She was a former Girl Scout troop leader in North Adams. She enjoyed bowling and doing crossword puzzles. She and her husband, Alton W. Cutler, were married Feb. 7, 1948, at St. Francis' Church. Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Kathy E. Lindgren of Pittsfield, Carol A. Cutler of Adams and Paula J. Solomon of Clarksburg; a son, Michael A. Cutler of Adams; two sisters, Shirley Barry of North Adams and Joan Reopel of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and six grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE-- Calling hours for Marjorie Burns Cutler, who died Sunday, April 9, 2006 at North Adams Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family, will be tomorrow, April 12, from 5 to 7 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL. Burial will be at a later date. Donations may be made to North Adams Regional Hospital in care of the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. She will be lovingly missed by her six grandchildren, Meaghan, Matthew, Michelle, James, Amie and Dennis. She also leaves nieces and nephews. A brother, John Burns is deceased. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
