Lucille C. Hanke

Lucille C. Hanke, 85, of 32 Columbia St. died Friday at home. Born in Limekiln, Vt., on Nov. 25, 1920, daughter of Stephen and Katherine Krovack Cravish, she attended Beeman Academy. She moved to Cheshire and, later, to Adams after a fire at her home in Vermont. Mrs. Hanke was a nanny for a private family. Before that, she worked at Hunter Machine Co. and at Hunter Outdoor Products, both in North Adams. She was a member of the Roman Catholic Parishes of Adams. Her husband, Carl Hanke Sr., whom she married Aug. 24, 1946, died in 1976. She leaves two brothers, Peter Cravish of Pittsfield and Vance Cravish of Las Vegas, and a sister, Alice Blazwiecz of Bonier, Ga. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Lucille Cravish Hanke, who died April 14, 2006, will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 at Notre Dame Church in Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot in Bellevue Cemetery. A visitation period for family and friends will be held Tuesday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at McBRIDE'S FUNERAL HOME. She also leaves her nieces and caretakers, Tanya Cravish and Linda Bailot, both of Adams. She was predeceased by four sisters, Mary and Ann Cravish in 1924, Gladys Gancarz in 1971 and Mary Saldo in 1984, and by three brothers, Joseph Cravish in 1941, Michael Cravish in 1976 and Blaise Cravish in 1995.
