Frank Stanley "Stan" Reynolds

Frank Stanley "Stan" Reynolds, 78, of 45 Fred Mason Road died Friday at his store apartment at H.D. Reynolds General Merchandise, 52 Church St. Born in the Farnums section of Cheshire on June 9, 1927, son of Harold D. and Hilda Ferris Reynolds, he attended schools in Cheshire and Adams and was a graduate of the former Adams High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. At the time of his death, Mr. Reynolds was president of H.D. Reynolds, where he began working with his father in 1947. In 1952, he started the power equipment division and was later joined by his sons George E reynolds and James C. Reynolds, both of. He was a member of First Baptist Church and of Upton Lodge of Masons, where he was a past master. He was a past district deputy grand master of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts and a member of the Berkshire Royal Arch chapter and the Berkshire Council of Royal & Select Masters, both in Pittsfield; the Commandery Knights Templar of North Adams, and the former Cheshire Grange. He was a member of the Franklin chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in Adams and past patron of the former Stafford chapter. He served on the committee of Boy Scout Troop 31 and the town Board of Registrars and was currently a trustee of Cheshire Library. He and his wife, the former Evelyn M. Scholz, were married Sept. 21, 1947, at First Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he leaves four sons, Stephen D. Reynolds of North Syracuse, N.Y., George E. Reynolds of Cheshire, Michael A. Reynolds of Grosse Ile, Mich., and James C. Reynolds of Cheshire, and nine grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Frank S. "Stan" Reynolds, who died Friday, April 21, 2006, will be conducted Wednesday at 11 at First Baptist Church in Cheshire, Mass., by the Rev. William D. Furey and the Rev. Warren Scamman. Burial will follow in the family plot in Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours at DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME will be tomorrow from 4 to 8. A Masonic service will be held tomorrow at 7:30 at the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Cheshire in care of the funeral home, 121 North State Road, Cheshire, MA 01225. Mr. Reynolds is lovingly survived by his nine grandchildren Stephanie, Harold, Edward, Jill, Kate, Joshua, Cole, Emily and Molly Reynolds. He enjoyed spending time with his family and maintaining and preserving his Fred Mason Road property.
