Elsie May Reeves, 94, of Lake Avenue died Friday at Fairview Hospital. Born in Rochester, N.Y., on Dec. 31, 1911, daughter of Bartram and Elsie Pomeroy Shiras, she moved to Pittsfield as a child and attended Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Reeves was a homemaker. She was a member of St. James' Church, the Thursday Morning and Great Barrington Garden clubs, and the Fairview Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a former member of the American Red Cross Gray Ladies at Berkshire Medical Center. She enjoyed gardening and playing bridge. She and her husband, Frank Parker Reeves, were married July 12, 1928, in East Greenbush, N.Y. He died in 1995. She leaves two sons, Shiras Reeves of South Egremont and Bartram Reeves of Fort Myers, Fla.; eight grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Elsie May Reeves, who died April 21, 2006, will be conduucted Tuesday, April 25, at 1 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington by the Rev. Catherine Woods Richardson, pastor. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 11 until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Hospital Auxiliary through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. Elsie also leaves two daughters-in-law, Irene and Thelma.
