Wanda Stella Scholz Armstrong

Wanda Stella Scholz Armstrong, 87, of 3 Second St. died yesterday at home. Born in Adams on Oct. 23, 1918, daughter of Frank and Katherine Ciolkosz Czarnik, she attended the former Adams High School. Mrs. Armstrong was a bookkeeper at White Eagle Printing Co. Earlier, she worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates, the former L.L. Brown Paper Co. and the former Adams Super Market. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church and a member of several bowling leagues. She played basketball as a youth for the St. Stanislaus' Athletic Club. She was a Boston Red Sox fan. Her first husband, Richard Scholz, whom she married in 1943, died in 1959. Her husband, C. Howard Armstrong, whom she married in 1964, died in 1988. She leaves a sister, Daisy Dyka of Adams, and a brother, Matthew Czarnik of Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Wanda Scholz Armstrong, who died Sunday, April 30, 2006, will be Wednesday, May 3, at 9 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Parishes of Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus' Church or School, or to Alert Hose Company, through the funeral home. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Kleiner and Gladys Zarvis.
