Elinor Katherine Sears, 92, of 1646 West Housatonic St. died Saturday evening at her home. Born in Portland, Maine, on April 30, 1913, daughter of Francis G. and Katherine Pelton Boody, she was educated in Portland schools. Mrs. Sears was a homemaker. She worked at Crane & Co. for 18 years. She was a member of Christian Assembly Church and a member of Pittsfield Adult Day Health Care. She was a self-taught organist who also enjoyed baking. She enjoyed babysitting children, animals and spending time at the beach. Her husband, Clarence Sears, died Dec. 24, l980. She leaves nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Elinor K. Sears, who died Saturday, April 29, 2006, leaves nieces and nephews, including Ronald and Beverly Boody, with whom she made her home. She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond F. Boody and Ralph Boody. Funeral services for Mrs. Sears will be private and at the convenience of the family, with burial to be in Pittsfield Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Boody may be made to Christian Assembly Church or to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
