Drew E. Guinan, 49, of 175 George St. died yesterday morning at Berkshire Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 21, 1956, son of Edward and Teresa Tanner Guinan, he was a 1975 graduate of St. Joseph's High School. He graduated in 1977 from Berkshire Community College and was a 1979 graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He also attended Bentley College. He was employed as a mail order manager at the Berkshire Record Outlet Inc. for 23 years. Mr. Guinan loved playing golf and spending time with his family at the ocean, and he was a Red Sox fan. He and his wife, the former Susan Macchi, were married June 4, 1983. Besides his wife, he leaves his parents, of Pittsfield; three daughters, Emily Guinan, Maeve Guinan and Margaret Guinan, all of Lee; two sons, Patrick Guinan and Kellin Guinan, both of Lee; four sisters, Donna Lapenas of Monson, Denise Douglass of Canaan, Maine, Deborah Anderstrom of Millis and Ann Marie Damasco of Pittsfield, and two brothers, Douglas Guinan of Lanesborough and Shaun Guinan of Pittsfield. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Drew E. Guinan, who died in Pittsfield on Sunday, May 7, 2006, will be Wednesday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor of St. Joseph's Church, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield. Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lee Youth Association in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA 01201, in his memory.
