Dianne Allene Duque

Dianne Allene Duque, 48, died Saturday at her home on Mahaiwe Street. Born in Springfield on May 14, 1957, daughter of Milton and Sara Bronstein Fichman, she graduated from Classical High School and attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Mrs. Duque was the founder of Pathfinder Resources, established to create links between the traditional and alternative medical communities and to benefit those in the area seeking health information alternatives. She cherished her home, cats, books, garden, family, her days of good health and her spiritual community. She and her husband, Hernan Duque, were married in 2006. Besides her parents, of Pittsfield, she leaves her husband, of Egremont, and two sisters, Barbara Matz of Great Barrington and Andrea Rubenstein of Minneapolis. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Dianna Allene Duque died Saturday, May 6, 2006. Donations in Dianne's memory may be made to either HospiceCare of the Berkshire or Orgyen Cho Dzong through FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, who is in charge of arrangements. She leaves two brothers-in-law, Eliyho Matz and Jim Rubenstein; four nephews, Michael and David Matz, Dan Rubenstein and Andrew Hedwall, and a niece, Rebecca Rubenstein. She also leaves dear friends, especially Gretchen Oelhaf of Great Barrington, who helped lead Dianne through her final days. Dianne's courage has been an inspiration to those who knew her. She shared her expertise in accounting and financial organization as a mentor and consult for many local businesses.
