Constance L. Real

Constance L. Real, 74, of Framingham, formerly of Stockbridge and Alford, died Monday at Eliot Health Care Center in Natick. Born in Arlington on Aug. 5, 1931, daughter of George and Katherine Howard Colby, she attended Arlington High School. Mrs. Real was employed as director of admissions of the DeSisto School from 1982 until 2004. She was active in many local organizations, including the Garden Club and the South Berkshire Volunteer Ambulance Squad. She was also a licensed pilot. She moved to Stockbridge in 1985. She and her former husband, Raymond F. Real of Mt. Vernon, N.Y., were married in 1951. Besides her former husband, Mrs. Real leaves a daughter, Jo-Anne Sullivan of Anchorage, Ak.; a son, Tom Real of Mission Viejo, Calif; a sister, Carol Brady of Framingham, and three grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Constance L. Real died peacefully Monday, May 8, 2006, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with ALS. She leaves a niece, Barbara; a brother in-law, Jim; a daughter-in-law, Patrice, and three grandchildren, Zach, Kate and Victoria. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 15, at 2 p.m. at the Marians of the Immaculate Conception Shrine, 2 Prospect Hill Rd. Stockbridge. There will be a reception offered for her friends and family at noon at the Memorial Shrine Hall. Burial will follow in Alford for immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the ALS Association at www.alsa.org, the Audubon Society at www.audubon.org, or to the Humane Society at www.hsus.org.
