Caleb J. Jacobbe, 8
CLARKSBURG, Mass. &mash; Caleb Joseph Jacobbe, 8, of 60 Cross Road died Wednesday,May 10, 2009, at Children's Hospital in Boston after a long battle with cancer.
Born in North Adams on Feb. 4, 1998, son of John and Tammie Maruco Jacobbe, he was a second-grade pupil at Clarksburg Elementary School.
An athlete, he enjoyed soccer, basketball, baseball and golf. He also enjoyed playing Texas hold'em and cribbage.
Caleb's greatest passion was the Boston Red Sox. During his illness, he achieved his wish of meeting the team at spring training in Florida and of meeting his favorite player, David Ortiz, at Fenway Park.
He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church.
Besides his parents, he leaves a sister, Lauren Jacobbe at home, and his paternal grandmother, Barbara Jacobbe of Zephyrhills, Fla.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Caleb Joseph Jacobbe will be Tuesday at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, with a Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Anthony's Church.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 2 to 7.
Donations may be made to the Caleb Jacobbe Foundation in care of the funeral home. He also leaves several aunts, uncles and cousins.
