Alice B. Moody

Alice B. Moody, 92, died Monday at Fairview Commons Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for the past three years. Born in Penn Yan, N.Y., on Aug. 15, 1913, daughter of William T. and Alma Lazarus Bordwell, she attended local schools in New York and graduated from nursing school at Crouse-Irving Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y. In the early 1960s, she moved to Great Barrington, where she was employed as a nurse by the former Willowood Nursing Home and later at Fairview Hospital. In the late 1970s, she moved to Del Ray Beach in Florida, where she stayed until moving back to Great Barrington in 2003. While in Great Barrington, Mrs. Moody was a communicant of St. Peter's Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Moody, who died in 1987. She leaves a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Anne Moody Mead, who died in 1967. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial mass celebrating the life of Alice B. Moody, who died Monday, May 15, 2006, will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours. She was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Bordwell who died in 1980.
