Susan Anderson

Susan Anderson, 59, of Main Street died Friday when her car hit a bus in Great Barrington. Born in Grass Valley, Calif., on Nov. 24, 1946, daughter of Margaret Truran Oppenheimer Angelini and the late Carl Oppenheimer, she moved to Stockbridge in 1950 and was a 1964 graduate of the former Williams High School. She attended Columbia University in New York for three years. Ms. Anderson worked in New York and then in Rensselaer, N.Y., where she was employed by Met Life as a computer programmer for 25 years. She retired in 2000 and moved back to Stockbridge. She was a member of Stockbridge Congregational Church, where she was active in the choir, and of the Children's Chime Tower and Bell Choir. She sang in various local musical groups and was a volunteer at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, Volunteers in Medicine in Great Barrington and the Historical Room at the Stockbridge Library. Besides her mother, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Stockbridge, she leaves a sister, Margot Locke of Court House, N.J. FUNERAL NOTICE -- There will be no calling hours for Susan Anderson, who died Friday, May 19, 2006. The funeral will be conducted tomorrow, May 24, 2006, at 11 at Stockbridge Congregational Church by the Rev. Steve W. Bridges. Burial will follow in Stockbridge Cemetery and a reception will follow the burial at the church social hall. Donations in memory of Susan Anderson may be made to the Berkshire Museum or the Volunteers in Medicine in care of FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA. 01230, which is in charge of arrangements. She also leaves a brother-in-law, Dennis; two nephews, Peter Angelini and his wife, Antoinette, and Michael Angelini and his wife, Andrea; three grandnieces, Mia, Alexandra and Livia, and a grandnephew, Leo.
