Loretta Peloquin Boyer

Loretta Peloquin Boyer, 91, of 334 Franklin St. died Sunday morning, June 4, at North Adams Regional Hospital following a brief illness. Born in North Adams on Feb. 10, 1915, daughter of the late Joseph Peloquin and Anna LeMoine Peloquin, she was educated in North Adams schools, including the former Notre Dame Parochial School, and graduated from St. Ann's Academy in Marlborough and the former Bliss Business College in North Adams. A lifelong resident of the city, she was employed with the former Gallup Dickey Insurance Agency in North Adams for five years, retiring in 1980. Prior to that, she worked at the former Bonvouloir Insurance Agency in North Adams for 20 years. Mrs. Boyer was a communicant of Notre Dame Church in North Adams and a member of its former Monday Girls Group. She was a member of the North Adams Travel Club and the Stamford, Vt. Golf League. She also enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of the Duplicate Bridge Group, the North Adams Hospital Marathon Bridge, and, more recently, at The Harper Center in Williamstown. Her husband, Arthur Joseph Boyer, whom she married Feb. 14, 1938 in Notre Dame Church, died April 9, 2005. She leaves a daughter, Elise B. Beverly of Auburn; two sons, Robert C. Boyer of Mooresville, N.C. and Michael A. Boyer of North Adams; a sister, Denise Coenen of Salisbury, Conn.; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Loretta P. Boyer, who died Sunday, June 4, 2006, will take place Thursday at 8:15 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals- West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, 64 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesdayfrom 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Campership Fund at Clara Barton Diabetes Camp in North Oxford in care of the funeral home. She leaves a son-in-law, Bruce Beverly; two daughters-in-law, Barbara Boyer (Robert) and Gail Boyer (Michael); seven grandchildren, Carla LeHan, Robert P., Tracy and Matthew Boyer, Kristen Gruodis, and Brooke and Lauren Beverly; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Michele LeHan and Jack and Morgan Boyer, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by one brother and two sisters, Lucy Whitney, Gladys Campoli, and Robert Peloquin.
