Thomas Anderton

Thomas Anderton, 65, of 18 Beach Road, Warrington, Cheshire, England, died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield while visiting his daughter, Mershele Springstube of West Stockbridge. Born in Goldborne, England on April 15, 1941, he was the son of Tom and Elsie Whittle Anderton. He was employed as a professional gamekeeper for the late Lord Derby, the late Lord Sephton and, for the last 25 years, the late Lord Mostyn of North Wales. He enjoyed world traveling. Besides his daughter, he leaves his wife of 45 years, the former Sylvia Hayes; two daughters, Janet Roberts and Beverly Jones of North Wales; a son, Stephen Anderton of Lancashire; a sister, Harriet Wright, of England, and nine grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Tom Anderton, who died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Tom's memory may be made to the West Stockbridge Fire Department Volunteer Ambulance, or to the West Stockbridge Congregational Church in care of BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230-1815, which is in charge of arrangements. He leaves nine grandchildren, Amy, Georgianna and Alexandra Springstube, Kelly and David Roberts, Gwyn Jones and Sam, Joe and Alice Anderton. He was predeceased by two sisters and a brother. He will be sadly missed by his many friends in the U.S.A. and the United Kingdom.
