Adele Wade

Adele Wade, 82, of 19 East Hoosac St. died Saturday morning at Sweet Brook Care Center, Williamstown. Born in Adams on Aug. 27, 1923, daughter of John and Zofia Strzepek Wojtaszek, she attended Adams schools, including St. Stanislaus Kostka School, and was a 1941 graduate of the former Adams High School. Mrs. Wade was employed by the Adams Cemetery Department as a clerk until being elected as treasurer and tax collector for the Town of Adams in 1968, retiring in 1983. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. She enjoyed reading and walking. Her husband, Robert F. Wade, whom she married May 11, 1946, died Oct. 19, 1950. She leaves a son, Robert Wade, Director of the International School in Zurich, Switzerland, and a sister, Elizabeth Godek of Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Adele Wade, who died Saturday, June 10, 2006, will be held on Wednesday, June 14, at 9 a.m. from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Stanislaus Kostka Church through the funeral home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, MA 01220. She was predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor Wojtaszek and Stefania Swiatek, and three brothers, Ignatius, Thaddeus and Francis Wojtaszek.
