E. James Alibozek

E. James Alibozek, 90, of 22 East Road died Friday, June 9, at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Adams on Dec. 18, 1915, son of Frank and Aniela Struzik Alibozek, he attended Adams schools. Mr. Alibozek was employed by General Electric Co. in Pittsfield, retiring in 1977 after 34 years of service. Before that, he was employed by the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates and the former U.S. Gypsum Co. in Cheshire. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church and of its St. Stanislaus Kostka Society, and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs. He enjoyed gardening and operated his own small farm for many years. He and his wife, the former Monica B. Stawarz, were married July 1, 1939. She died May 18. He leaves three daughters, Virginia M. "Ginger" Piekos and Florence T. Hoellerich, both of Cheshire, and Joan M. Marko of Adams; a son, Peter J. Alibozek of Adams; three sisters, Mildred Zieba, Laura Winarski and Wanda Ostrobinski, all of Adams; two brothers, Leon and Joseph Alibozek, both of Adams; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for E. James Alibozek, who died Friday, June 9, 2006, will be Tuesday, June 13, at 9 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Parishes of Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be tomorrow, June 12, from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Kostka Church or to Adams Ambulance Service, through the funeral home. He also leaves two sons-in-law, Roy and Edward, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Derek Hoellerich; a daughter-in-law, Kathryne Alibozek; a son-in-law; Kasey Piekos; a sister, Jennie Taikowski, and six brothers, Chester, William, Ned, Frederick, John and Edward Alibozek.
