Jodi B. Kaplan, 39, of 1635 Clayton-Mill River Road, Southfield, died Sunday at home after a long illness. Born in San Diego on May 20, 1967, daughter of Harold Reid and the late Diane Johnson Reid, she was a 1985 graduate of Mission Bay High School there. She moved to Southfield in 1998. Mrs. Kaplan was employed as a bookkeeper for Roger Trucking in Great Barrington. Previously, she worked for Universal Payroll in Pittsfield. She enjoyed reading and crafts, especially jewelry made of clay. She and her husband Michael "Mick" Kaplan, were married Oct. 30, 2000, in Great Barrington. Besides her husband and father, of San Diego, she leaves a step-daughter, Chelsea Kaplan of Great Barrington. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Jodi B. Kaplan, who died Sunday, June 11, 2006, will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME tomorrow, June 14, from 4 to 7. Expressions of sympathy in Jodi's memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230-1815. She also leaves an uncle, William Johnson of California, and many close and dear friends.
