Curtis Harrison "Harold" Sistrunk, 58, of 50C Highview Drive died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center after being stricken at home. Born in Dadeville, Ala., on April 5, 1948, son of the late Curlis and Robenia Greathouse Adams Sistrunk, he moved to Pittsfield as a child and was a 1966 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He also attended Berkshire Community College. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he served there from 1967 to 1968 as a construction machine operator. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Mr. Sistrunk was employed by Crane & Co. for 20 years, first as a truck driver and then in the stationery department as a packer. Before that, he was employed by the former Lipton Steel Co. for 15 years. He was a member of Price Memorial AME Zion Church and of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 448. He enjoyed singing in the Gospel Choir and playing cards. He and his wife, the former Valerie Caesar, would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary yesterday. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Thelonious A. Sistrunk of Pittsfield; a daughter, Tinisha E. Sistrunk of Springfield; four sisters, Claudette Robert, Judy Chadwell, Theresa Mungin and Cynthia Eve Adams, all of Pittsfield; two brothers, Willie Sistrunk and James Nicholas Sistrunk, both of Pittsfield, and six grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Curtis H. "Harold" Sistrunk, who died Sunday, June 11, 2006, will be conducted Thursday at 11 at Price Memorial AME Zion Church by the Rev. Willard H. Durant. Burial with full military honors will be in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in his memory may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, in care of the funeral home. He also leaves his grandchildren, Jordan, Qyreeana, Elijah, Qyajohnta, Harrison and Jaelynn; his daughter in law, Valerie A. Sistrunk, and his uncle, Isaac Frazier. He was predeceased by a brother, Henry T. Adams.
