Arlene Hazel Rondeau

Arlene Hazel Rondeau, 57, of 137 Bushika Road, Stamford, Vt., died Wednesday at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., of cancer. Born in North Adams on May 27, 1949, daughter of the late Roy E. Ellsworth Sr. and Hazel Mae Lawry Ellsworth, she attended schools in Williamstown, including Mount Greylock Regional High School. Mrs. Rondeau was first employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. and later worked at the former Widen Tannery. She also worked at the former Adams Nursing Home on Franklin Street and at Berkshire Metal Spinning in Clarksburg. For the past six years, she was employed by McDonald's Restaurant in North Adams. She enjoyed collecting antiques, reading, and baking pies. She loved dogs. She and her husband, James Francis Rondeau, were married Jan. 22, 1966, in Clarksburg. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Christine M. Sprague of Brattleboro, Vt.; a son, Chad M. Rondeau of Brattleboro; two brothers, Robert S. Ellsworth of Williamstown and Roy E. Ellsworth Jr. of Clarksburg; two sisters, Elizabeth Patten of Williamstown and Helen M. Bailey of Georgia, and two grandchildren. Three children, James Francis Rondeau Jr., Jane Leah Rondeau, and Sarah Jean Rondeau all died on Jan. 5, 1977. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Arlene Hazel Rondeau, who died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, are private. Burial will be in the family lot in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPELS at 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements. She leaves a son-in-law, Marc Sprague; two grandchildren, Malee Sprague and Gabrielle Sprague of Brattleboro, Vt., and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley and Joyce Ellsworth, and two brothers, Roland and Edward Ellsworth. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
