Neal Anthony Bombardier

Neal Anthony Bombardier, 67, of 1087 Tucker Road, North Dartmouth, died Friday at home after a long illness. Born in North Adams on Feb. 8, 1939, son of the late N. Valmore Bombardier and A. Edna Fish Bombardier, he was a 1957 graduate of Drury High School and graduated from the former North Adams State College, now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Mr. Bombardier was employed as a junior high school teacher in Pawtucket, R.I., for several years. After returning to North Adams, he was employed by NASC, where he established and was the director of the visual arts department until his retirement in 1987 because of illness. He leaves a sister, Valerie A. O'Reilly of Burlington, Vt., and two brothers, the Rev. Dennis P. Bombardier of Millers Falls and Gary E. Bombardier of Alexandria, Va. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Neal Bombardier, who died Friday, June 16, 2006, will be celebrated Friday, July 7, 2006 at 10:30 at St. John's Church in Millers Falls by his brother, the Rev. Dennis P. Bombardier. Private burial services will take place in the family lot in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice, or Mass cards may be sent to St. John's Church at 5 Church St., Millers Falls, MA 01349. He also leaves four nieces; five grandnieces; three grandnephews,and his good friend and caregiver, Col. Robert Freitas of North Dartmouth. He will always be remembered as a most loving, patient and long-suffering person in our lives.
