Elise Robbins "Wendy" Rowe, 74, of 3111 Sierra Road, formerly of Stockbridge, died Friday at Westland House in Monterey, Calif. Born in New York on Aug. 10, 1931, daughter of William and Elise Schriber Robbins, she grew up in Greenwich, Conn. She also previously lived in Fairfield, Conn., and in Carmel, Calif. She spent time moving between Stockbridge and Cape Cod, Mass., and Carmel, Calif. She lived in Stockbridge from 1979 to 1989. She owned a seitan manufacturing plant on Church Street in Lenox. Ms. Rowe attended dance classes and played tennis throughout her life. She leaves two daughters, Penny Butler of Pacific Grove, Calif., and Bonny Rowe of Fairfield, Conn.; a son, Sandy Rockwell of Bandon, Ore., a sister, Joan Reynolds, of Groton, Conn., and three grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The life of Elise "Wendy" Rowe, who died Friday, June 16, 2006, will be celebrated with friends and her ashes will be scattered on the Rock on Ribera Dune in Carmel, Calif., on her birthday, Aug. 10, 2006. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carmel Foundation, P.O. Box 1050, Carmel, CA 93921, or to the Hospice Foundation of the Central Coast, P.O. Box 1798, Monterey, CA 93942. She also leaves three grandchildren, Mason, Michael and Alicia. She also leaves her faithful companion, Dodge. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her joy in living and her contagious sense of spirit.
