Ida Mae Soldo

Ida Mae Soldo, 78, of 108 Furnace Hill died Tuesday at Williamstown Commons, where she had resided since June 14. Born in Lanesborough on May 23, 1928, daughter of Lawrence and Laura Girard Campeau, she was educated in schools in Lanesborough and Montreal, and attended the former Berkshire Business College. Mrs. Soldo was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, and a member of the Cheshire Senior Center. She had been a member of the Mothers Association for Cheshire Baseball Youth League. She enjoyed music. In her earlier years, she also enjoyed skiing and figure skating. She and her husband, Francis John Soldo, were married Aug. 2, 1952, at St. Mary's Church. He died Feb. 17, 1980. She leaves a daughter, Diane T. Scott of North Adams; two sons, James F. Soldo of Adams and Robert A. Soldo of Williamstown; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Ida Mae Soldo, who died June 27, 2006, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, celebrated by the Rev. David R. Raymond, pastor. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Soldo may be made to the Cheshire Fire Department or to the North Adams YMCA Youth Soccer and Basketball Program in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, P.O. Box, 445, Cheshire, MA 01225. Mrs. Soldo leaves five grandchildren, Ramsey Scott, Casey Scott, Ryan Soldo, Joshua Soldo and Jesse Soldo, and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Soldo, Michael Soldo and Brady Soldo. She was predeceased by a brother, Albert Campeau.
