David Arthur Faivre

David Arthur Faivre, 60, formerly of North Plain Road, Housatonic, died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center. He had lived at Laurel Lake Rehabilitation Center in Lee for seven years. Born in Great Barrington on June 10, 1946, son of Mary Colombari Faivre and the late Arthur W. Faivre, he attended local schools and was a 1965 graduate of the former Searles High School. Following high school, he served in the Navy and was honorably discharged on Jan. 19, 1971. Mr. Faivre was employed as a machinist for 30 years, first by General Electric Co. and, later, by Lockheed Martin. He retired in 2000. He enjoyed music, target shooting and working on cars, and was a history buff. Besides his mother, of Great Barrington, he leaves a brother, Donald Faivre of Housatonic. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for David Faivre, who died Saturday, July 8, 2006, will be conducted Wednesday, July 12, at noon at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington by the Rev. Arthur Kaufman. Burial will be at a later date in the family plot in Greenlawn Cemetery in Housatonic. There will be no calling hours. He also leaves many cousins.
