Doris Johnston

Doris Johnston, 86, formerly of 3 Ann Drive, died Friday at Laurel Center in Bedford, N.H., where she had resided for seven years. Born in Philadelphia on Feb. 6, 1920, daughter of Samuel and Ceila Luden Feldsher, she attended schools there. Mrs. Johnston was employed by General Electric Co. for many years in the naval ordnance department. She was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting and needlework. Her husband, Robert L. Johnston, whom she married Nov. 29, 1943, died Oct. 6, 1992. She leaves a daughter, Sandra Alderman of Bedford; two sons, Kent Johnston of Merrimack, N.H., and Richard Johnston of Hudson, N.H.; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Doris Johnston, who died Friday, July 7, 2006, will be Tuesday, July 11, at 11 at AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Resident Council Fund of Laurel Center or to Beacon Hospice, both through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247. She also leaves two daughters-in-law, Kathleen and Patricia, and a son-in-law, Walter. She was predeceased by a grandson Patrick Johnston, and by two sisters, Bertha Levy and Mary Clark. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
