Harold "Sonny" Stender Bohl

Harold "Sonny" Stender Bohl, 67, of 706 Jepson Road died Sunday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in North Adams, Mass., on Jan. 11, 1939, son of Harold A. Bohl and Selma Stender Bohl, he was educated in North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School in 1957. Mr. Bohl was employed as a tool and die maker with the former Sprague Electric Company in North Adams for 28 years until his retirement in 1987. He leaves his wife of 42 years, Susan Hardman Bohl of Stamford, whom he married on April 25, 1964, in St. John's Episcopal Church in North Adams. In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Harold S. Bohl Jr. of Dalton, Mass., and Jonathan B. Bohl of Stamford, and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Per his request, there are no funeral services and no calling hours for Harold Bohl, who died Sunday, July 9, 2006, surrounded by his family. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The omission of flowers is requested. Any donations in his memory are suggested for the Joslin Diabetes Center through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements, or the Department of Pathology and Medicine, Joslin Diabetes Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215, Attn: Diane Mathis and Christoph Benoit. He leaves his two daughters-in-law, Kelly Bohl of Dalton, Mass., and Brenda Bohl of Stamford, and his four grandchildren, Kierstyn, Jared, Morgan and Nicholas Bohl.
