Charles J. "Moose" Koloski

Charles J. "Moose" Koloski, 89, of Glendale Middle Road died Wednesday at home. Born in the village of Glendale on Dec. 19, 1916, son of Frank and Frances Dombrowski Koloski, he attended schools in Glendale and in Stockbridge. A World War II veteran, he served with the Navy Seabees. He was a longtime member of Adams-Budz Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Housatonic and of the American Legion in West Stockbridge. Mr. Koloski was employed by General Electric Co. as a welder in the power transformer division, retiring in 1979 after 38 years of service. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century Club, the West Stockbridge Fish and Game Club and the Polish Community Club in Pittsfield. He was a fan of the Atlanta Braves. His wife, the former Lenore Bilodeau, whom he married Feb. 16, 1963, at Holy Family Church in Pittsfield, died in 1983. He leaves a brother, Anthony Koloski of Lee; three sisters, Helen Pigott of Glendale, Bertha Eurich of Lee and Virginia Westover of Portland, Ore. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Charles "Moose" Koloski of Glendale will be celebrated Monday, July 17, 2006, at 10 at St. Joseph's Church in Stockbridge by the Rev. Anthony Cullen. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery in Housatonic. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 16, 2006, from 3 to 6 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington, which is in charge of arrangements. He was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley and Frank Koloski, and by three sisters, Alice Olender, Theresa Lawrence and Bessie Casey.
