Judith Marie Putnam

Judith Marie Putnam, 62, of 33 Porter St. died Friday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Hudson, N.Y., on Jan. 25, 1944, daughter of the late Edmond and Minnie Phillips Berry, she was a 1962 graduate of Hudson High School and a 1965 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College, where she received an associate degree in accounting. At the time of death, Mrs. Putnam was employed by the North Adams School System as a paraprofessional. Her last position was at Conte Middle School. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church, where she was a eucharistic minister and a former Confraternity of Christian Doctrine teacher. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was a volunteer in the North Adams Regional Hospital Gift Shop and for the North Adams Santa Fund, and participated in the Northern Berkshire Relay for Life. She and her husband, Michael A. Putnam, would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary Oct. 24. They were married in Hudson, N.Y. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Colleen D. Putnam of North Adams, with whom she made her home, and Kelly Wisniowski of Adams; two brothers, Robert Berry of Craryville, N.Y., and Raymond Berry of Greenport, N.Y. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Judith Marie Putnam, who died Friday, July 21, 2006, will be conducted Tuesday at 9 from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Notre Dame Church in Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. She also leaves a son-in-law, Stephen Wisniowski; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and a granddog, Lacey Wisniowski, She was predeceased by a sister, Myrtle Berry. Memorial donations may be made to the Northern Berkshire Relay for Life through the funeral home, 6 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
