Richard M. Kleiner, 40
ADAMS, Mass. — Richard M. Kleiner, 40, of 49 Richmond Lane died Sunday, July 23, 2006, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on North Summer Street.
Born in Cocoa Beach, Fla., on May 2, 1966, son of Darlene Hagen Kleiner Blanchard and Richard Kleiner, he moved to Adams as a child and attended local schools.
He graduated from Hoosac Valley High School in 1984 and attended the former North Adams State College and Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, N.Y.
Mr. Kleiner was co-owner and operator of Gene's Sales & Service, where he had worked since 1986.
He was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and a member of the Adams Lodge of Elks. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, a downhill skier and a golfer.
Besides his parents, of Adams, he leaves a brother, Stephen Kleiner of Washington, D.C.; six stepbrothers, Richard Blanchard, who is serving in Iraq, Michael Kleiner, Steven Blanchard, Scott Blanchard and William Blanchard, all of Adams, and Robert Kleiner of New Hampshire; his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Constance Hagen of Adams; his stepfather, Harvey "Butch" Blanchard of Adams, and his stepmother, Sandra D. Kleiner of Adams.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Richard M. "Rick" Kleiner will be Thursday, July 27, at 10 from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, MA 01220, with the Rev. Robert R. Moulton, deacon of the Catholic Community of Adams, officiating.
Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery at a date to be announced. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7. Donations in his memory may be made to the Adams Ambulance Fund or the Shriners' Hospitals through the funeral home.
He also leaves his aunt and uncle, Michael G. and Janet Hagen of Adams, and two cousins, Michael J. Hagen and Amanda Hagen, both of Adams. His paternal grandparents, Gary and Mary Kleiner, are deceased. He loved his dog, Jackson, and his cat, Lucy.
