Dorothy Mae Davis

Dorothy Mae Davis, 89, of 59 North County Road, died Tuesday at Williamstown Commons. Born in Adams on Aug. 8, 1916, daughter of Aldei and Vina DeCoigne Cyr, she attended schools in Adams. Mrs. Davis was employed by Sprague Electric Co. as a clerk for many years. She was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church in North Adams, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Her former husband, Harold Davis, whom she married July 4, 1940, died Dec. 26, 1991. She leaves two sons, Ronald F. Davis of Florida and Donald R. Davis of North Adams; a brother, Vernon Cyr of Hudson, N.H.; a sister, Eileen Koczela of Corona, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. A son, Kenneth L. Davis, died in 1962, and a daughter, Carol A. Davis Gleason died in 2003. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Dorothy Davis, who died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, will be held at noon on Saturday, August 5, from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247, followed by a Requiem Eucharist at 1 p.m. in St. John's Episcopal Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church or the Florida Fire Department through the funeral home. She also leaves two daughters-in-law, Susan and Karen, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Rita Kogut, in 1992.
