Tomasina N. Freely

Tomasina N. Freely, 50, a former resident of Harwood Hill, died Saturday at Vermont Veterans Home after a long illness. Born in Pittsfield, Mass., on Nov. 22, 1955, daughter of Thomas Brown and the late Virginia Mattoon Brown, she graduated from the former Notre Dame School and attended St. Joseph's High School. Before her illness, she owned and operated Cimarron Western Wear on Harwood Hill and was active in the family business, Freely's Floor Covering. She traveled throughout the West on shopping trips, buying pottery and other items for the store. She also made jewelry that she sold at Cimarron's. She and her husband, Stephen Freely of Pownal, would have celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary Aug. 28. They were married in Bennington. Besides her husband and father, of Pittsfield, she leaves two sons, Jason and Joshua Marcoulier, both of Westfield, Mass.; a sister, Kay Keller of Schenectady, N.Y.; two brothers, Michael Brown of Westfield and Donald Green of Jasper, Ga., and a grandson. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Private services for Tomasina Brown "Tommi" Freely will be held at the convenience of the family. Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to the Activities Fund at Vermont Veterans Home through the office of MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201, which is in charge of arrangements. She leaves a grandson, Jake Marcoulier, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
