John R. Fadding

John R. Fadding, 47, of Pine Street, Housatonic, died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Great Barrington on Aug. 13, 1959, son of Archibald Fadding Jr. and Jennie Bevens Fadding, he was a 1977 graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School. Mr. Fadding worked for seven years at MeadWestvaco in Lee, where he was head of facilities and oversaw repair of the plant's equipment. Before that, he was a self-employed carpenter for many years. He enjoyed fishing, canoeing and hunting. He and his wife, the former Jean Silvernail, would have celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary Oct. 7. They were married at the Open Air Chapel in West Stockbridge. Besides his wife and parents, of West Stockbridge, he leaves a brother, Loren Fadding of Latham, N.Y.; and two sisters, Holly Hamilton of West Stockbridge and Cindy Roots of Pittsfield. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services celebrating the life of John R. Fadding, who died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, will be conducted Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, at 10 at the Open Air Chapel in West Stockbridge by Pastor Gerry Doherty of the Word of Grace Church in Westfield. Burial will follow in West Center Cemetery in West Stockbridge. The family will receive friends tomorrow, Sept. 12, from 3 to 7 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stockbridge Sportsmen's Club through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
