Helen O'Hagerty

Helen O'Hagerty, 87, of 75 Commercial St. died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Adams on March 17, 1919, daughter of Alfred and Angelina Trombley Beauchemin, she graduated from the former Notre Dame School and, in 1937, from the former Adams High School. Mrs. O'Hagerty was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams as a secretary for 25 years, retiring in 1981. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and enjoyed playing cards and watching tennis. Her husband, John O'Hagerty, whom she married May 25, 1940, died Feb. 8, 2001. She leaves a son, Charles O'Hagerty of Hinsdale; a daughter, Kathleen Janulewicz of Mashpee; a sister, Roma Sacco of Adams; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Margaret Ann Galloway, is deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Helen O'Hagerty, who died Sept. 26, 2006, will be Saturday, Sept. 30, at 9 from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Notre Dame Church, Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Adams Ambulance Fund in care of the funeral home, 6 Summer St., Adams, MA 01220. She leaves a daughter-in-law, Connie O'Hagerty; a son-in-law, Gary Janulewicz; nine grandchildren, Steven Thoms, Holly Casey, Michael and Patrick O'Hagerty, Kellie Duffy, and Jonathan, Benjamin, Daniel and Thomas Janulewicz; nine great-grandchildren, Lars, Jon, Roger, Quinton, Ian, Ellie, Cameron, Colin and Tristen; and her devoted caregiver, Beverly Tatro of Adams. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
