Lisa Vollmer

Lisa Vollmer, 45, of Welcome Street died Sept. 15 in a two-vehicle accident in Lee. Born in New York on Jan. 6, 1961, daughter of Dr. Albert Vollmer and Dorothy Hood Vollmer, she was raised in Larchmont, N.Y. She graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1978 and from State University of New York at Oneonta in 1983 and received a master's degree in public health and her registered dietitian degree from the University of North Carolina in 1999. Miss Vollmer had been employed by Canyon Ranch Resort in the Berkshires as a nutritionist since her graduation. She also recently received a certificate to teach yoga and did so at local studios. She traveled to many countries in Europe, Asia and South America and lived in Japan for two years. She enjoyed skiing and biking and was an accomplished runner, completing marathons in New York and Philadelphia. She leaves her parents, of Larchmont. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Lisa Vollmer died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006. A memorial celebration will take place Sunday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 54th and Lexington Avenue, New York City. Lisa had a great sense of humor and made friends easily wherever she went. Besides her parents, she is survived by her cat, Beckham.
