Janett Gertrude Sinopoli

Janett Gertrude Sinopoli, 66, of 125 Bailey Road died Saturday at home after a long illness. Born in Pittsfield on March 23, 1940, daughter of Carl A. Zurrin Sr. and Edith Stevens Zurrin, she attended local schools. Mrs. Sinopoli was a homemaker. During the 1970s, she was co-owner of the former Dawn's Boutique on North Main Street and operated Jan's Ceramic Shop with her sister-in-law Shirley Zurrin. She enjoyed playing golf and gambling. She and her husband, Joseph Frank Sinopoli Jr., celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary Aug. 13. They were married in St. Charles' Church by the Rev. John J. Foley. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Dawn C. Knysh of Lanesborough; a son, Joseph F. Sinopoli III of Lanesborough; a sister, Nancy St. James of Sanford, N.C., and a granddaughter. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Janett G. Zurrin Sinopoli, 66, who died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 at St. Charles' Church by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201. She also leaves her granddaughter, Denielle, who was her pride and joy and who is expecting her great-grandchild; a son-in-law, Donald Knysh, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Carl A. Zurrin Jr. and Steven Zurrin. Her family was a very important part of her life.
