Catherine E. Cornellier

Catherine E. Cornellier, 88, of 620 Laurel St., formerly of Sturgis Avenue, died Sunday at the Laurel Lake Center in Lee, where she has resided for the past three years. Born in Ilion, N.Y. on Aug. 1, 1918, daughter of Thomas and Alice Murphy Garry, she was a graduate of Rome Free Academy in Rome, N.Y. She moved to Pittsfield in 1946, and to Lee in 1952, where she and her husband operated a farm. She was last employed at the Outer Skates in Lee, where she was known as "Gram" to the kids. Previously, she had worked at various jobs, including the Howard Johnson on the Massachusetts Turnpike, the Holiday Inn in Lenox, the Christmas Tree Inn in Lenox, the Wendell Hotel in Pittsfield, the Morgan House in Lee and General Cable in Rome, N.Y. Her husband, Earl Cornellier, whom she married Feb. 11, 1946, died Oct. 24, 2003. She leaves a son, Thomas D. Cornellier Sr. of Lee; a daughter, Marlene M. Cuene of Becket; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Visiting hours for Catherine E. Cornellier, who died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, will be held at KELLY FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Please come and share your memories. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. She leaves her grandchildren, Thomas Cornellier Jr., David Cornellier and Heather Chartier, and her great-grandson, Aiden Chartier.
