Fern Margaret Giroux Piske

Fern Margaret Giroux Piske, 97, of 1014 Lincoln St., Hollywood, Fla., died Tuesday at her home. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on March 10, 1909, the daughter of the late Frederick Giroux and Josephine Gamache Giroux, she attended schools in Montreal. She was employed as a restaurant hostess in the Long Island, N.Y., area and later in the state of Florida, where she and her husband relocated following his retirement. She was the widow of Fred Piske, who died on Dec. 2, 1990. They were married on Sept. 23, 1942. She was predeceased by three brothers, Jean Paul Miner, George Miner and Andre Giroux; and two sisters, Annette Hinkell and Claire Rose, all of whom live in North Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Fern Piske, who died Tuesday, October 17, 2006, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in the family lot in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from noon until the funeral. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home. She leaves several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
