Sister Mary Gabrielle Muth VHM, 90, of the Sisters of the Visitation in Tyringham, died Tuesday at home in the Monastery of her Order. Born in Baltimore, on Oct. 8, 1916, she was the daughter of Edward S. and Anna G. Arning Muth. On Sept. 8, 1936, she entered the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary in Wilmington, Del., where she served as superior in Wilmington, Philadelphia and Bethesda, Md. She served as first federation president of the Visitation Monasteries in the United States from 1971 to 1984. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Sister Mary Gabrielle Muth, who died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, will be celebrated on Nov. 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the Monastery Church. Burial will follow in the Monastery Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the Monastery. KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main St., Lee, is in charge of arrangements. She leaves behind a sister-in-law, Joan S. Muth VHM; a priest nephew, the Rev. Joseph Muth Jr.; many nephews, nieces and grandnephews, mostly of Maryland, as well as the Sisters of the Visitation of Tyringham.
