Minnianna VanDeusen, 84, of 92 Boice Road, a longtime resident of Egremont and Great Barrington, died yesterday at Fairview Hospital. Born in Hillsdale, N.Y., on Aug. 16, 1922, daughter of Raymond D. and Meta Harvey TenBroeck, she was a 1940 graduate of the former Searles High School. Mrs. VanDeusen and her husband, Samuel VanDeusen Sr., owned and operated Birchview Farm in North Egremont for more than 50 years. They had registered Brown Swiss dairy cattle. She was a member of First Congregational Church for more than 50 years and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed hunting, flower gardening, and watching and feeding birds. She and her husband were married Oct. 25, 1941. He died April 3, 1992. She leaves three sons, Samuel VanDeusen Jr. and John VanDeusen, both of Alford, and William VanDeusen of South Egremont; four daughters, Elaine Chiodo of York, S.C., Nancy Crossley of Great Barrington, Shirley Maynard of Alford and Jane Bartoni of Housatonic; a brother, Clifford TenBroeck of Lakeland, Fla.; two sisters, Hazel O'Hara of Great Barrington and Helen Medici of Hawthorne, N.J.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Minnianna VanDeusen, who died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, will be private and at the convenience of the family, in honor of Minnianna's wishes. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Minnianna's memory may be made to the Egremont Fire or Police departments, in care of BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth; a sister, Mildred Owens-Larkin; and a grandson, Michael Vervoort. She enjoyed her farm, the outdoors and spending time with her family.
