Gladys May Brown

Gladys May Brown, 77, of 45 Spring St. died Thursday at Williamstown Commons. Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 8, 1929, daughter of William Brown and Myrtle Estes Brown McLen, she attended schools in North Adams. Ms. Brown was employed by the former Dargie's Rest Home for several years until moving to New Britain, Conn., where she worked at Fafnir Bearing Co. for more than 30 years. She returned to North Adams in 2002. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and enjoyed playing "Scrabble" and cooking. She leaves a sister, Marlene G. Miller of North Adams, and a brother, James D. Brown of Rowe. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A private funeral for Gladys Brown, who died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, will be held at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours, and memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. She also leaves a brother-in-law, Norman; a sister-in-law, Nancy; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Harold Brown, and four sisters, Bertha Brown, Sarah LeBlanc, Charlotte Garceau and June Robinson, are all deceased.
