Robert F. Dobbert Sr., 68, of 568 Union St. died Friday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on Aug. 1, 1938, son of Thomas T. and Jane Yates Dobbert, he graduated from Drury High School in 1956. Mr. Dobbert was employed by A. Shapiro & Son Co. for many years, retiring as a foreman in 1986 because of ill health. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and a former member of the Hairpin Turners Square Dancing Club. He enjoyed bowling at Valley Park Lanes and riding snowmobiles. He and his wife, the former Donna Supernant, were married June 3, 1962. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Christine A. Dobbert of the town of Florida; a son, Robert F. Dobbert Jr. of North Adams; three brothers, Thomas and Daniel Dobbert, both of North Adams, and James Dobbert of Adams; a sister, Janice Dobbert of Albany, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A son, Shawn Michael Dobbert, died Aug. 10, 2004. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Robert F. Dobbert Sr., who died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, will be Wednesday at 11 at St. John's Episcopal Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Donations are suggested in his memory through the funeral home. He also leaves his daughter's companion, Daniel P. Burdick Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Tina; four grandchildren, Michael A. Hubby Jr., Elizabeth A. Hubby, and Kaitlyn H. and Mackenzie Dobbert; and two great-grandchildren, Riley Hubby and Izabella LaMore. A brother, Bruce Dobbert, is deceased.
